Teapots
Midori T. offers a fine selection of Japanese teapots that spans from delicate porcelain or clay teapots to rugged cast iron pots.
A unique feature of Japanese teapots is their built-in tea strainer on the inner edge of the spout that catches the leaves when the tea is poured. The bigger pots come with a removable strainer.
Yokode kyusu have a peculiar shape featuring a side bar handle with an angle of less than 90 degrees to the spout which is very ergonomically designed. You grip the handle with your right hand and slightly press the lid to the pot when pouring the tea.
You may find Japanese teapots significantly smaller than their western counterparts. Their average volume is 200 to 300ml.
