
Matcha is a powdered Japanese tea that is prepared in a slightly different way compared to loose leave tea, thus requires special accessories.
In the processing of Matcha, the softest tea leaves are chosen to be ground into a fine tea powder. It is kept in special tea caddies called natsume and measured with long spoons made of bamboo, chashaku. For preparing Matcha the traditional way put 1-2 teaspoons of Matcha in a round tea bowl, chawan, add some hot but not boiling water and whisk it well with a bamboo tea whisk called chasen to produce froth.
