Green Tea Area:

Bancha
Ban is Japanese for sequence or order and Bancha means a type of Japanese green tea where the picking is done later than for Sencha. The leaves are picked in June (nibancha), in August (sanbancha) and sometimes even in October (yonbancha). With each subsequent picking the leaves become tougher and contain fewer ingredients such as caffeine.
Therefore, Bancha is of a moderate, slightly tangy fragrance and goes well after meals and in the evening.
